About the Town

Famy is an inland municipality located at the northeastern part of Laguna. It is bounded in the east by the municipality of Real, Quezon. In the north, it is separated from the municipality of Sta. Maria by mountain ranges, which is a continuation of the Sierra Madre mountain. While in the west and south, it is separated from Mabitac and Siniloan respectively by links of hills planted with coconuts and other fruit bearing trees.

Going there

The town of Famy can be reached by both public and private transportation via Marcos Highway passing through Pililla, Rizal and via the South Superhighway passing through Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Coming from Manila via the South Superhighway, the town of Famy would be 2 ½ to 3 hours away. Buses going to Sta. Cruz, Laguna are available in bus stations in Buendia or Alabang. These buses will take you directly to the capital town of Sta.Cruz. In Sta. Cruz, jeepneys going to Siniloan are abundant.

You don’t have to go to a jeepney terminal since jeepneys going to Siniloan pass around the town plaza. Going to Siniloan, you will be passing the towns of Pagsanjan, Lumban, Kalayaan, Paete, Pakil, and Pangil. Once in Siniloan, you don’t have to worry where to get off. The jeepney will stop at the terminal where jeepneys and tricycles ply the route to nearby barangays and neighboring towns.

From here, you will have to ride a tricycle going to Famy since this is the only mode of transportation in going to the town. Famy is just 5 minutes away from Siniloan.

Where to eat
Satisfying your hungry stomach would not be a problem once you’re in Famy. As you approach the town, you will see an intersection where two restaurants are located. At the left side of the road is a Caltex gas station, beside it is a restaurant which is aptly named as Naty’s Caltex Restaurant. While on the right side of the road is Marc’s Garden Restaurant, which like the other restaurant serves food and native dishes that will surely satisfy your appetite.
